About Me

Biography

The Fun Version

Chantal Beaulne was born in Calgary, Alberta at a very young age. She grew up immersed in high quantities of speculative fiction in the form of books, ghost stories, films, and NFB specials. This caused irreversible damage to her reality perceptors, making it impossible to achieve her dream of becoming a professional lint collection appraiser or the Chairwoman of the Domestic Appliances Appreciation Society. Instead, she settled for becoming an animator, following that passion to Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. In 2014, she was honoured to go on an exchange to the University of Edinburgh/Edinburgh College of Art with their animation program.  In the few moments not dedicated to pursuing animation, she splits her time between the pen and the sword as a fencer and short story author.

The Short but more Informative Version

I am an animator and illustrator who graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2016 with a Bachelor of Media Arts in Animation. I exchanged to the Edinburgh College of Art in 2014. I’ve worked at Slap Happy Cartoons,  DHX/Wild Brain, and Titmouse as a storyboard revisionist for The Hollow, Carmen Sandiego, and Cleopatra in Space respectively. I also worked as an AFX artist for Wild Brain on Carmen Sandiego. I’ve made stop-motion animation for Hasbro as a contractor for MadRig studio, including properties such as Transformers. I also produce independent stop-motion animation.  For a complete but less formal look at my work, visit my blogs.
